Melissa vs Lemongrass Essential Oil plus tips on Melissa substitution

Another excellent question from Melani Method students (Formulating Foundations class). This video is about Melissa essential oil: its significance, comparison to Lemongrass essential oil, and a bit of fun with ‘reconstructing’ the costly Melissa essential oil. 👌

Let me know what you think in the comments below. 😀

P.S. The cover photo is from my garden. ❤️ Obviously, I didn’t distill this Melissa because it is already blooming, but I love to share my pictures with students to see what the plant looks like. And even if they’ve seen Melissa, many have not paid attention to the beautiful flower. Isn’t it exquisite?

fascinating! I’ve no doubt missed most of your videos and already you may have answered this next question. How do you discern which molecules will provide the dominant effect for a specific property of a formulation (say a relaxant, or maybe something else with a rich spicy smell) and how much of it (concentration) is needed to achieve that dominant effect. I’m guessing that sometimes, maybe often, it is just a little of something important that makes all the difference.
